Lt Col. David Gurfein (President & Chief Operating Officer)

David is the President and Chief Operating officer of CorpHousing Group and related companies overseeing all aspects of their operations. LtCol. Gurfein brings to CorpHousing Group his extensive business executive management experience in diverse highly-competitive industries. To include as the CEO for ArmorSmith, defense technology; SVP and Partner with Holden International, business development consultants;  VP for The Venetian and The Palazzo, five-diamond resorts in Las Vegas; National Sales Manager for MV Sport/Weatherproof, emblazoned sports apparel; COO for TeleVend, e-commerce start-up; and Associate with Goldman, Sachs & Co, Wall Street investment bank.  LtCol. Gurfein received his MBA from Harvard Business School and BS in Speech Communication and Political Science from Syracuse University. 

Lt Colonel Gurfein enlisted in the Marines at 17, completed Boot Camp at Parris Island and went on to become the Honor Graduate from Officer Candidate School, Meritoriously Augmented as a 2nd Lieutenant out of The Basic School, and served as a Marine Corps Infantry Officer.

With 25 years of service, he retired as a Lt Colonel after leading Marines operationally and in combat around the world – From a Rifle Platoon in the jungles of Panama; to a Mortar Platoon across the deserts of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait; to a Rifle Security Company on the fence-line at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; to a team of Future Operations Planners in the mountains of Afghanistan; to a Special Operations Task Force during the initial assault into the cities of Iraq; and as a Congressional Liaison on Capitol Hill for both the Supreme Allied Commander, Europe, and the Marine Special Operations Command.

In 2016, LtCol. Gurfein ran for U.S. Congress in NY’s 4th District and was endorsed by 5 parties.

Jimmie Chatmon (Senior Vice President & Executive Director)

Jimmie Chatmon is Senior Vice President and Executive director of CorpHousing Group. In this role, he oversees daily operations, managing all aspects of the business, including revenue generation, acquisitions, customer service, and corporate procedures. Along with the executive team, Chatmon’s progressive perspective has positively shaped the company’s structure and energetic environment. Chatmon earned a bachelor’s in business from the University of Miami with a focus on finance and accounting.

Shanoop Kothari (Chief Financial Officer)

Shanoop Kothari has been our Chief Financial Officer since January 2022. From January 2019 until September 2021, Mr., Kothari was the Chief Financial Officer of NuZee Inc (Nasdaq: NUZE). From July 2020 until May 2021, Mr. Kothari also served, in dual capacity, as NuZee’s Chief Operating Officer. In addition, Mr. Kothari served as a director of  NuZee from October 2019 to March 2021. Prior to joining NuZee, Mr. Kothari was a Managing  Director at B. Riley FBR, Inc. (“FBR”) from June 2014 until September 2018. From September 2012 to June 2014, Mr. Kothari was the Chief Financial Officer of a private oil and gas refinery joint venture with HollyFrontier. Mr. Kothari was an investment banker at Credit Suisse from June 2005 until September 2012. From May 1998 until April 2003, Mr. Kothari served in variety of capacities for BindView Development, a publicly traded software company, including as Chief Financial Officer (from January 2001 to May 2001). Mr. Kothari was senior auditor at Price Waterhouse from June 1995 to May 1998. Mr. Kothari holds a BA in Accounting from Southern Methodist University and an MBA from Rice University. Mr. Kothari is also a licensed CPA and CIA and possesses Series 7/ 24/ 63 licenses.

Kevin Mikolashek  (Chief Legal and Compliance officer)

Kevin has Broad experience in affirmative civil enforcement,  False  Claims Act/fraud, Employment law, all aspects of government compliance, immigration, and national security.  Kevin has recently focused on providing  business consulting  services  in  complex  investigations,  compliance,  risk management, and strategy.   A former Army prosecutor and appellate defense attorney, Kevin left the Army after eight years on active duty and joined the Department of Justice.  He served ten years at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia litigating civil cases, including employment and national security matters. He was the office’s first Servicemembers Civil Rights Coordinator, overseeing cases brought under the Servicemembers Civil Rights Act and Uniformed Services Employment/Reemployment Rights Act. Kevin spent the last several years at the Justice Department investigating government contract fraud cases. After leaving the Justice Department, he joined the enforcement group at the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, where he investigated large financial institutions. Kevin holds a JD from the Dickinson School of Law of Pennsylvania State University, and an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. He lives and works in northern Virginia, is an avid youth soccer coach, and serves as Treasurer on the Board of Directors of a nonprofit organization helping people at risk of hunger and homelessness.

Karl Rothman (Chief Accounting Officer)

Karl Rothman has been the acting Chief Financial Officer of CorpHousing Group since May 2021 and will be integrating into a full time position as the company becomes a public entity as Chief Accounting Officer. His career has taken him through the health care, real estate, and legal industries. As a consultant Rothman has performed Sarbanes-Oxley reviews and provided tax, project management, and outsourced accounting services for small & growing businesses. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a graduate of the University of Virginia.

Edward Rogers (Partner & Head of Property acquisitions)

Edward Rogers is the head of property acquisitions for CorpHousing Group, working daily to target potential properties that align with the company’s rigorous criteria. At the start of his career, Rogers was a member of Legg Mason’s prestigious Chairman’s Council and Million Dollar Club, where he advised individual and corporate investors for 28 years. In this role, he acted as a strategic financial advisor, responsible for managing more than $150 million for individual and corporate investors, including company retirement plans. He has since become a private investor, while raising his four children EJ, Ben, Olivia, and Lindsay. Rogers graduated from Bowdoin College with a bachelor’s degree in economics.
